He is one of 8 in the top 13!

As we are in the middle of an International break, I thought it would be interesting to look at the rise of British football managers in the Premier League.
I’ve highlighted Chris Wilder because he has conjured up an incredible performance from his beloved Sheffield United so far, as they are currently occupying 5th place in the league.
The two Brits above Chris are of course, Brendan Rodgers at Leicester and Frank Lampard at Chelsea, both these sides are playing extremely attractive football and are 2nd and 3rd comfortably in the Champions League spots.
Wilder, Rodgers and Lampard are not the only Brits that are making their mark this season, we have Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth and Sean Dyche’s Burnley in 9th and 10th, and it doesn’t stop there!
Graham Potter has pushed Brighton up to 11th and septuagenarian Roy Hodgson has Crystal Palace just below halfway in 12th. Finally, Steve Bruce is the 8th British manager in the top 13 as he attempts to revitalise the Geordies.
So, this is quite a remarkable stat when you consider how much Solksjaer, Pocchetino and Emery have spent in the transfer market; could this be a turning point when the Premier League chairmen make their next decisive move to appoint a new manager? Certainly, I cannot remember a time recently when British managers have been this successful.
Long may this last and with Gareth Southgate leading a young England squad successfully, we could be in for exciting times. Anything to do with Brexit?!!
