It would take about 12 web pages to describe that amazing performance yesterday with England edging out a very impressive New Zealand team at Lord’s to win the Cricket World Cup for the first time.
50 years ago, man landed on the moon…. if anything, this was more exciting!!!
Watching every ball from 10-45 am to 7-45 pm was absolutely enthralling and to see the “superover” at the end took cricket to another dimension.
I’m pretty sure that no one was aware of the rules of the “superover” and even that was tied! The result being decided eventually on the number of boundaries hit throughout the match!
Huge congratulations to the entire England cricket set up and amidst all the celebrations I was hugely impressed with the dignity of the kiwi captain Kane Williamson, a real credit to this magnificent game.
For cricket to lord it (pardon the pun!) over an amazing tennis final at Wimbledon and the British Grand Prix was amazing.
An incredible day of sport brilliantly encapsulating the England team’s multicultural heritage to really light up this summer of sport. Now bring on the Aussies as we bash them in the Ashes!
